  2. This is a full time, W-2 position. The candidate will be required to be onsite in Suitland, MD.
  3. 14+ years’ experience and a bachelors degree
  4. Desired skills: Cisco CCNA, CCNP, CCIE
  5. Extensive experience with Big-IP LTM and ASM modules in a large shared environment

Overview

Do you want to help IBR build a portfolio of next-generation data collection systems? The F5 engineer will be responsible for the installation, configuration and maintenance of the F5 BIG IP infrastructure supporting the Decennial. Furthermore, the engineers will be required to perform all F5 LTM load balancer functions to include: creating virtual servers, pools/pool members, nodes, monitors, iRules etc. Furthermore, the engineers will be responsible for all load balancer support for cloud service providers (AWS, IBM Soft Layer, Azure, etc...)

The candidate is required to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance.

The candidate is required to be onsite at the project facility in Suitland, MD during normal business hours.

Responsibilities

  1. Serve as a subject matter expert in supporting F5 load balancers with Big-IP LTM & ASM
  2. Perform daily operational tasks submitted by customers through Remedy
  3. Install, configure, and maintain network hardware, software, devices and appliances in support of TCO infrastructure
  4. Prepare network or infrastructure Visio topology diagrams, write Standard Operating Procedures, maintenance plans and provide status reports as required, participate in data calls and other operational and maintenance tasks
  5. Troubleshoot network problems, network device configurations and coordinate with various department administrators to facilitate connectivity issue resolution

Qualifications

  1. 14+ years’ experience
  2. Requires a B.S. in Computer Science, Information Systems Management or similar; 5+ years overall IT experience (in lieu of a degree) working in a large enterprise environment with the internal processes of a federal governmental structure and its mandates
  3. Desired skills: Cisco CCNA, CCNP, CCIE
  4. Excellent attention to detail
  5. Excellent communications skills and ability to interact with clients
  6. Experience with Cisco network technologies
  7. Significant experience with supporting and maintaining F5 Big-IP load balancers to include set-up, maintenance, upgrades and replacement of the latest generation of F5s
  8. Extensive experience with Big-IP LTM and ASM modules in a large shared environment
  9. Demonstrate an ability to craft and understand iRules
  10. Experience with TCPDump, Wireshark and analyzing network traffic
  11. Demonstrate a solid understanding of the OSI and TCP/IP network models and provide examples
  12. Experience working in a large SDLC environment
  13. Experience analyzing security impacts and risks to websites, explain crafting ASM policies with examples.
  14. Experience in custom SSL, ciphers, and LTM traffic performance optimization
  15. Experience with supporting and maintaining wireless networks
  16. Intermediate knowledge of networking and systems administration; and the ability to troubleshoot problems
