The Network Administrator must be able to meet the key criteria below:

Location: Hybrid-Remote. The role will require travel, as needed to NCUA locations located in Alexandria & Sterling, VA; Phoenix & Tempe, AZ, and Austin, TX. Minimal travel is anticipated and otherwise role is able to be performed remotely.

Years’ Experience: 7+ years of professional experience in Network Administration

Education: Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field or equivalent professional experience

Security Clearance: IBR is a federal contractor. Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance issued by the National Credit Union Administration. This agency handles and adjudicates the security clearance process.

NOTE: United States Citizenship is required as part of the eligibility criteria to be able to obtain this type of security clearance.

Employment Type: Full Time

Work Schedules: IBR promotes work-life balance by offering flexible scheduling options. Standard business hours are aligned to the Eastern Time Zone. Schedules may vary; however, the help desk support is operated on a Monday-Friday schedule from 7:00am – 8:00pm EST.

Key Skills:

  • Experience overseeing the deployment, configuration, and support of Cisco network infrastructure including devices, ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability.
  • Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining Cisco network devices, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification preferred.

 

Position Overview

As a Network Administrator at IBR, you will play a key role in providing support in network administration to the National Credit Union Administration program. This support may include assistance with LAN, WAN, wireless, VoIP, data center and software-defined networking (SDN) administration. The individual will be responsible for managing and maintaining the agency's Cisco network infrastructure. The Network Administrator will also oversee the deployment, configuration, and support of Cisco network devices, ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability.

 

Responsibilities

  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining Cisco network devices, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Networking cabling installation and management, including copper and fiber.
  • Monitoring and optimizing the performance of the network, ensuring efficient resource allocation and minimal downtime.
  • Diagnosing and resolving network issues, including connectivity, performance, and security problems.
  • Ensuring the security of the network by applying patches, updates, and security configurations to Cisco devices and Cloud network configurations.
  • Maintaining detailed documentation of network configurations, procedures, and policies.
  • Working closely with other IT teams to support network needs and integrate network solutions with other systems.
  • Responding to network alerts and resolving network infrastructure problems.
  • Providing configuration management components to include configuration documentation and network diagrams.
  • Providing technical support on existing and emerging technologies, planning and execution of technology projects, execution of technology related tasks and initiatives.
  • Researching and reporting on new technologies and how they provide value to the organization.
  • Performing hardware installation and support configuration of IT network systems in NCUA on-prem environments.

 

Qualifications

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance.
  • 7+ years of professional experience in network administration.
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field or equivalent professional experience.
  • Will require travel, as needed to NCUA locations which may include the below for installing and maintaining physical equipment (i.g., network firewall, server, storage, uninterruptable power supplies. Minimal travel is anticipated, and majority of support will be remote.

This role primarily involves sedentary work, in a workplace and/or home office environment. There are some physical demands associated with the role, including:

  • Occasional travel to client sites or meetings may be required.
  • Work may need to be performed in a fast-paced environment requiring quick decision making.

  • Will be exposed to a wide variety of clients in differing functions, personalities, and abilities.

The expected salary range for this position is $75,000 – $100,000 USD annually. This is a good-faith estimate and not a salary guarantee as compensation may vary based on factors such as experience, education, skills, associated role responsibilities, applicable contractual requirements, and geographic location.
