Description

The Junior Software Engineer must be able to meet the key criteria below:

  3. Education: Bachelor in Computer Science or Software Engineering related field
  4. Security Clearance: IBR is a federal contractor. Applicants must be able to meet the requirements to obtain a Secret security clearance. NOTE: US Citizenship is required for this type of clearance.
  5. Work Authorization: Must show that applicant is legally permitted to work in the United States.
  6. Employment Type: Full-Time, W-2
  7. Key Skills:
    • Knowledge of Java
    • Knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming
    • Knowledge of other software development tools such as Javascript, SOAP, REST, CSS, HTML, JSON, etc. a plus

 

Overview

 

Do you want to help IBR build a portfolio of next-generation data collection systems? As a Junior Software Engineer, you will support the Agile based engineering of a robust, secure, and scalable enterprise web portal solution supporting 5M users hosted in AWS. This position will work closely with IT teams to design, code, test and implement application features and capabilities for an enterprise portal.

 

Responsibilities

  • Support design and development of enterprise web front-end using such technologies as: JavaScript, JSP/JSF, AJAX, REST, CSS3, HTML5, Bootstrap, Angular, JSON, XML
  • Build a cross-platform and cross-browser front-end in DevOps environment with continuous integration, regression testing, and deployment
  • Partner closely with UX and back-end engineers to ensure features are developed holistically
  • Design and develop enterprise mid-tier components of web driven n-tier application framework with technologies such as: Java, ORM (Hibernate, JPA), Spring, Spring Security, JSON, REST, SOAP, XML.
  • Implement web services, data persistence access features and external interfaces to third-party systems
  • Follow Agile software development methodology and team architecture and application security standards
  • Participate in design, code, and test inspections throughout life cycle to identify issues/defects

 

Qualifications

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related technical field with software development experience
  • Have a current or be able to obtain a Secret Security Clearance. Note, this type of security clearance requires United States Citizenship
  • Experience with Object-Oriented Programming languages and principles such as Java, JavaScript, Python, Angular, Bootstrap

 

Physical Demands

Position consists of sitting for long periods of time, bending, stooping, crouching, and lifting up to 20 pounds. Frequently uses hands/fingers for manipulation of keyboard and mouse.

 

Work Environment

Work is performed primarily indoors at a well-lit office environment. The environment is normally air conditioned, but conditions may change dependent upon circumstances. Work may need to be performed in a fast-paced environment requiring quick thinking and rapid judgements. Employee will be exposed to a wide variety of clients in differing functions, personalities, and abilities.
