Description

The AWS Engineer must meet the key criteria below:

  1. Be onsite in Orlando, FL
  2. Obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance (US Citizens only)
  3. 3+ years’ experience
  4. Experience with at least one automation framework, (eg., Chef, Puppet).
  5. Proficient in Cloud technologies. AWS Solutions Architect Associate and/or AWS Developer Associate Certification(s) preferred.

Overview

As an AWS Engineer at IBR, you will work with multiple application teams to migrate systems into AWS environment in support of the My Navy Portal program. This individual will work technical details with application teams to ensure they are migrated successfully. This individual will coordinate implementation with the application teams.

Responsibilities

  1. Takes direction from Migration Dev/Ops Engineering Lead to migrate applications.
  2. Provides technical guidance to application teams to take advantage of cloud technologies, as needed.
  3. Works with application teams to document application internal/external interface requirements for Development, Testing, Staging and Production environments
  4. Works with site Operations and Development teams to ensure compliance with High Availability and Disaster Recovery related concept of operations.
  5. Implements cloud infrastructure.
  6. Implements middleware application specific requirements as needed, ensuring that integration across components in the TI provided environment is functional.
  7. Implements migration efforts with application teams, including data migration.
  8. Works with security teams to coordinate application level Authority to Operate (ATO) efforts.
  9. Assists and takes part in training activities with application teams and ensures that DevOps provided processes/tools are effective. Suggests enhancements on behalf of application teams as needed.
  10. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  1. 3+ years’ experience with a Bachelor’s Degree
  2. Previous experience migrating applications from on-premises to cloud infrastructure.
  3. Experience with at least one automation framework, (eg., Chef, Puppet).
  4. Experience with methodologies for defining infrastructure as code (eg., AWS Cloudformation)
  5. Demonstrated experience with at least one scripting language (eg., Python).
  6. Familiarity with both traditional and emerging system architectures (e.g., three tier, web services, micro-services, etc.)
  7. Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment tools and methodologies.
  8. Experience determining and implementing middleware requirements.
  9. Proficient in Cloud technologies. AWS Solutions Architect Associate and/or AWS Developer Associate Certification(s) preferred.
