Description

The Senior DevOps Engineer must be able to meet the key criteria below:

Location: 100% remote

Years’ Experience: 10+ years professional experience

Education: Bachelor Degree required

Security Clearance: IBR is a federal contractor. Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance.

NOTE: United States Citizenship is required as part of the eligibility criteria to be able to obtain this type of security clearance.

Key Skills:

  • Must have experience deploying services with cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud
  • Must have experience with deploying and maintaining Infrastructure-as-Code using declarative languages such as Terraform or CloudFormation
  • Must have experience with end-to-end automation of CI/CD containerized pipelines (Jenkins, Travis CI, CircleCI, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions), including security checks during stages, automating software builds, testing, and deployments
  • Must be proficient in scripting (ie. Python, Ruby, or Shell)
  • Must have experience setting up and configuring monitoring tools for log analysis (Nagios, ELK, Grafana, and/or Prometheus)
  • Experience with Java Spring Framework (Springboot)
  • Experience with Opensearch

Responsibilities

  • Work in an Agile environment as part of a full design and development team, participating in scrum ceremonies, interacting with and supporting our customer.
  • Support the development team in deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting web applications.
  • Deploy new CI/CD workflows and improve the scope of existing ones.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for containerization and DevSecOps and provide relevant advice to team members and customers.
  • Must be able to respond to incidents and handling alerts
  • Analyze and resolve issues in the development and production environments
  • Thoroughly document and maintain records of processes, configurations, and system changes
  • Resolve performance bottlenecks in the infrastructure and applications

 

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of professional experience with 5+ as a DevSecOps Engineer and/or Software Developer
  • Must have experience within Agile environment and Agile methodologies and DevOps principles to facilitate collaboration and continue improvement
  • Must have experience deploying services with cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Must have experience with deploying and maintaining Infrastructure-as-Code using declarative languages such as Terraform or CloudFormation
  • Must have experience with end-to-end automation of CI/CD containerized pipelines (Jenkins, Travis CI, CircleCI, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions), including security checks during stages, automating software builds, testing, and deployments
  • Understanding of Containerization and Orchestration platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes, and contain-native workflows
  • Must have experience with Ansible, Puppet, or Chef as configuration management tools for maintaining and configuring servers as well as experience with change tracking processes
  • Must be proficient in scripting (ie. Python, Ruby, or Shell)
  • Must have experience with GitHub/GitLab account with open source contributions and version control
  • Experience with Java Spring Framework (Springboot)
  • Experience with Opensearch
  • Understanding of Infrastructure and Cloud Services experience with Virtual Machines, Databases, Load Balancers, and Networking (ie. routing, firewalls, load balancing)
  • Must have experience setting up and configuring monitoring tools for log analysis (Nagios, ELK, Grafana, and/or Prometheus)
  • Familiarity with SQL for database administration and management
  • Understanding of security best practices and the ability to implement security measure in CI/CD pipeline and infrastructure
  • Must have strong communication skills and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams

 

Physical Demands and Work Environment

While this position primarily involves sedentary work in an office environment and/or home-office environment, there are some physical demands associated with the role, including:

  • Extended periods of sitting and working at a computer workstation.
  • Occasional lifting and carrying of equipment or materials weighing up to 20 pounds.
  • Occasional travel to client sites or meetings may be required.
  • Work may need to be performed in a fast-paced environment requiring quick thinking and rapid judgements.
  • Additionally, flexible work arrangements may be available based on business needs.
  • Employee will be exposed to a wide variety of clients in differing functions, personalities, and abilities.
