o Understanding of basic QA functions

o Assist with quality testing and auditing of product deliverables and software projects

Overview

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist. The specialist will be responsible for assisting with QA reviews and formal auditing of both corporate and software development deliverables. The specialist will be responsible for supporting internally defined QA processes. As a result, the candidate must understand the standards and requirements outlining best quality practices for QA regarding software development. Candidate must have good communication skills. The ability to work well with the customer and personnel is key for this position.

 

Responsibilities

  • Assist with monitoring processes to ensure deliverable production adheres to defined standards and client expectations.
  • Observe and suggest improvements to minimize errors and defects in products or processes.
  • Perform quality tests during the course of production to identify and correct any work-in-progress issues.
  • Perform routine inspections of finished deliverables to check for defects and other problems before being released or published.
  • Identify problems or defects, create audit reports, and record corrective procedures to resolve product and process non-compliance.
  • Assist in creation of documentation and training materials outlining processes; updates to procedures or practices within the development or business functions.
  • Assist development team when necessary during the creation of project deliverables.

 

Qualifications

  • Technical Skills – Basic understanding of QA as well as software production
  • Computer Skills – Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs, namely Word, Excel and PowerPoint; experience with MS Project is a plus
  • Communication Skills – Strong oral and written communication skills for making presentations, explaining quality improvement plans, and producing QA reports
  • Attention to Detail –Ability to detect issues from among many products and review production operation calls for a keen eye for details
  • Team-Oriented –Work closely with quality control managers, production workers, engineers, and other personnel
  • Analytical Skills – Analyze production processes and apply skill to the inspection of products
  • Time Management –Ability to provide quick turnaround from the detection of a product defect to reporting
