The Site Reliability Engineer must be able to meet the key criteria below:

 

  1. Location: Must be onsite in Washington, DC or Tyson Corner, VA. Remote work after 2-4 week ramp-up.
  2. Years’ Experience: 4+ years
  3. Education: Bachelors
  4. Clearance: Must be able and willing to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
  5. Work Authorization: Must be a US Citizen
  6. Key Skills:
    • Must have AWS experience (AWS certifications preferred)
    • Experience with Software Engineering tools such as CI/CD automation and test automation
    • Experience with programming languages such as Java, C/C++, C#, Python, JavaScript, Powershell

 

Overview

 

Do you want to help IBR build a portfolio of next-generation data collection systems and enterprise portals? As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will assist in implementing proper operational capabilities. The project has a focus on designing secure, cloud-based, enterprise-level solutions for the Federal Government.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Ensure systems are healthy, monitored, automated, and designed to scale.
  • Measure operational metrics within environments
  • Plan availability and reliability testing and guide teams on improvements
  • ​Focus on rapid deployments and time to market strategies
  • Build capacity plans
  • Develop automated patching and deployment methodologies focusing on zero down-time
  • Participates in technical sessions such as design reviews and code walkthroughs
  • Design and engineer software, processes, and documentation

 

Qualifications

 

  • Familiarity with one or more general purpose programming languages including but not limited to: Java, C/C++, C#, Python, JavaScript, PowerShell
  • Designed reliability, availability, scalability, and/or capacity plans
  • Must be able to understand issues in a variety of IT disciplines and must be able to communicate effectively and persuasively verbally and in writing
  • Experience measuring operational metrics
  • Software design competency
  • Understanding of software engineering tools and best practices (such as test automation, and continuous integration)
