The Mobile Lead must be able to meet the key criteria below:

  2. Years’ Experience: 7+ years
  3. Education: Bachelors’ Degree
  4. Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
  5. Work Authorization: Must be a United States Citizen
  6. Key Skills:
  • Experience with Xamarin frameworks
  • Deep understanding of the communication technologies commonly employed by mobile apps, especially HTTP(S), JSON, Bluetooth LE and NFC.
  • Experience leveraging other Integrated Development Environment (IDE) products; to include setting the application architecture for reuse

 

Overview

 

Do you want to help IBR build a portfolio of next-generation data collection systems? The Mobile Software Engineer will perform full-cycle software development tasks in an Agile Software Development environment. This opportunity requires strong background knowledge in Xamarin development for a multi-platform, Bring-Your-Own-Device (BYOD) user community. This position will work closely with IT teams to design, code, test and implement application features and capabilities for an enterprise mobile application portal with 1M users built on the Liferay and PhoneGap platform.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Demonstrates and applies strong technical hands on experience, leadership, and knowledge to design, documents and implements technical mobile solutions to fulfill functional requirements, user stories and critical success factors design principles.
  • Facilitate collaboration sessions with customers to formulate creative and practical mobile solutions to their challenges (Requirements)
  • Communicate an application’s architecture and components so that other developers can successfully implement stories and features
  • Review UI wireframes for feasibility, adherence to interface guidelines, and effort estimation
  • Contribute technically in code-reviews and write unit tests and integration test for critical components
  • Assess current environment state and make recommendations towards improvement
  • Interface and effectively communicate with both business and technical resource
  • Lead the architecture and development strategy for the Xamarin mobile platform(s)
  • Create highly sophisticated UI that takes into account mobile guidelines for Android, Apple and possibly other platforms to meet an end goal of a BYOD approach.
  • Develop coach and mentor team members on standards and standard methodologies for Agile mobile software delivery
  • Establishes coding standards for hybrid mobile application development that are in accordance with Liferay Mobile.
  • Performs software design and code reviews interacting with product owners, operations engineers, data SMEs and other team members to evaluate and improve operational and performance aspects of the overall system.
  • Capable of resolving complex issues across the lifecycle from new development to operations and maintenance
  • Develop coach and mentor team members on standards and standard methodologies for Agile mobile software delivery

 

Qualifications

 

  • Experience with Xamarin.Native and Xamarin.Forms frameworks
  • Experience with Java, Objective-C/Swift, Object-Oriented design and using application / web servers such as MVC frameworks, HTML5, CSS, JSON, XAML, C#, JavaScript, JQuery, Apache Tomcat, JBoss, GlassFish, Jetty etc.
  • Deep understanding of multiple SDLC methodologies with an emphasis on Agile
  • Extensive experience building apps that rely upon RESTful and JSON web services
  • Experience integrating mobile applications with external APIs/web services
  • Deep understanding of the communication technologies commonly employed by mobile apps, especially HTTP(S), JSON, Bluetooth LE and NFC.
  • Experience leveraging other Integrated Development Environment (IDE) products; to include setting the application architecture for reuse
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate to business and technical partners
  • Experience providing the team with constructive feedback regarding estimates activities and process improvements
  • Exhibited ability to dig into technical problems and be the one who can challenge the team to resolve issues in a prompt manner
  • Strong experience in custom mobile software development with the ability to chip in a technical area outside of the core job function
  • Experience working with distributed teams in an Agile environment
  • Ability to promote shared vision crafting and motivating a team to achieve the goal
  • A natural leader who wants to grow their leadership and strategy skills
  • An interest and knowledge of the latest industry trends and standards; passionate about mobile technologies
  • Deep understanding of the communication technologies commonly employed by mobile apps, especially HTTP(S), JSON, Bluetooth LE and NFC.
  • Experience leveraging and other Integrated Development Environment (IDE) products
  • Liferay development experienced a plus
  • Experience with designing end to end JEE applications
  • Experience with Google Play Services (Google Play Console), hybrid development (PhoneGap recommended), design, and architecture is a plus
  • Experience developing secured applications in accordance with OWASP standards
  • Experience developing enterprise applications using Agile/Scrum methodology work professionally and collaboratively with Scrum team members and Product Owners
