The Senior Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning Engineer must be able to meet the key criteria below:

Location: 100% remote. This is a United States based position, and candidates must reside in the continental United States to be eligible for employment.

Years’ Experience: 10+ years professional experience

Education: Bachelors Degree in IT related field

Security Clearance: IBR is a federal contractor. Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance issued by DHS-USCIS. This agency handles and adjudicates the security clearance process.

NOTE: United States Citizenship is required as part of the eligibility criteria to be able to obtain this type of security clearance.

Work Schedules: IBR promotes work-life balance by offering flexible scheduling options. Standard business hours are aligned to the Eastern Time Zone.

Key Skills:

  • Deep understanding of key statistical learning concepts such as linear regression, logistic regression, regularization, tree-based methods, unsupervised learning, and resampling methods
  • Expertise with Python using Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow, NumPy, SciPy, and/or Keras
  • Advanced level SQL experience (Joins, Aggregation, Windowing functions, Common Table Expressions, RDBMS schema design, Postgres performance optimization)
  • Experience with Entity Resolutions and Data Matching a bonus
  • Experience with AWS environment, and CI/CD pipelines a bonus

 

Position Overview

As an Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning Engineer at IBR, you will play a key role in designing and implementing secure, next-generation solutions that support critical missions. As a member of our Engineering Support for Identity Services (ESIS) program supporting USCIS, you will collaborate with technical leaders, business stakeholders, and a multi-disciplinary team to ensure solutions are scalable, secure and forward-thinking, while remaining aligned with organizational and program goals. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to technical strategy within a dynamic, mission-driven, and customer focused environment.

 

You will research, build, and design AI systems that automate predictive models and design and create algorithms capable of learning and making predictions that define machine learning. You will work with the data science team to design algorithms to meet DHS requirements. This position will work closely with the operations team performing Deployment, Systems Integration Testing, and Operations & Maintenance activities.

 

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the development of production enterprise applications hosted on AWS and Databricks
  • Analyze complex datasets and algorithms to assess performance or find new patterns and apply machine learning techniques to data sets related to the federal government
  • Assist in architecture design, technical support, and advisement services to ensure identity management system technologies are integrated and meet the appropriate security requirements
  • Organize large amounts of data while executing tests and optimizing ML systems and algorithms
  • Implement web services, data persistence access features, and external interfaces

 

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of IT experience focusing on enterprise data architecture and management
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT-related field (computer science, mathematics, statistics, and data science)
  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust security clearance
  • Deep understanding of key statistical learning concepts such as linear regression, logistic regression, regularization, tree based methods, unsupervised learning, and resampling methods
  • Advanced level SQL experience (Joins, Aggregation, Windowing functions, Common Table Expressions, RDBMS schema design, Postgres performance optimization)
  • Expertise with Python using Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow, NumPy, SciPy, and/or Keras
  • Databricks experience a bonus
  • Apache Spark experience a bonus 
  • Experience with Entity Resolutions and Data Matching a bonus
  • Experience in graph analytics and network analysis a bonus
  • Experience creating AI/ML and data processing solutions in AWS (i.e. EC2, S3, Lambda, Databricks, etc.)
  • Ability to analyze and organize large amounts of data while executing tests and optimizing ML systems and algorithms.
  • Experience with AWS CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Cloud Formation, Terraform) a bonus
  • Ability to continuously learn and stay up to date on new trends and technologies in AI and ML.

  • Occasional travel to client sites or meetings may be required.
  • Work may need to be performed in a fast-paced environment requiring quick decision making.

The expected salary range for this position is $135,000 - $160,000 USD annually. This is a good-faith estimate and not a salary guarantee as compensation may vary based on factors such as experience, education, skills, associated role responsibilities, applicable contractual requirements, and geographic location.
